Man Impersonating Officer Demands Money From Northern Westchester Resident, Police Say A man impersonating a police officer attempted to shake down a local resident, demanding money before New York State Police troopers intervened. Troopers were called to the Woodybrook neighborhood in Cortlandt on Tuesday, Dec. 4, where there was a report of a man claiming to be a police officer, demanding money. The investigation into the suspicious man determined that Croton-on-Hudson resident Marcelo Abila, wearing an “NYPD” baseball hat, knocked on the victim’s door claiming to be a member of the Croton Police Department.
