Nor'easter Will Bring Downpours, Damaging Wind Gusts, Possible Power Outages, Flash Flood Risk
A rapidly developing, rare fall Nor'easter will bring heavy downpours, flash flooding, and damaging wind gusts to the region that could cause power outages.
The time frame for storm activity is Monday evening, Oct. 25 through Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 26. (See the first and second images above.)

New York State agencies are preparing emergency response assets as Tropical Depression Ida is set to impact the region with heavy rain and the potential for flash flooding in some areas.

Storm Knocks Out Power To More Than 100,000 In Hudson Valley
A powerful storm system bringing heavy downpours and damaging winds has resulted in numerous downed tree limbs, leading to road closures and more than 100,000 power outages in the Hudson Valley.

Woman Killed After Crashing Into Tree On Taconic Parkway
A 65-year-old woman was killed after losing control of her vehicle in a heavy rainstorm on the Taconic State Parkway.
Fatos Kaba, of Queens, was killed around 12:41 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 29, northbound on the parkway in Dutchess County, in the town of Stanford, said New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks.
When troopers arrived on the scene, they found a 2008 Honda Fit was found in the center median, Hicks said.
An initial investigation suggests Kaba lost control during heavy rainfall, left the roadway, and struck a tree.
