Gov. Cuomo Says Pope Francis Is 'Purest' Pope In His Lifetime

NEW YORK, N.Y. -- Gov. Andrew Cuomo says Pope Francis’ message is universal and in more ways humanitarian rather than religious, making him the “purest” pope in his lifetime, reports Politico New York.

The governor met the pope during his visit to New York City's St. Patrick's Cathedral on Thursday. 

Pope Francis will make will numerous stops in the city Friday, including a multi-religious service at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum at 11:30 a.m., a papal motorcade through Central Park at 5 p.m. and a mass at Madison Square Garden at 6 p.m.

The pope will leave for Philadelphia Saturday morning.
