WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Chappaqua resident David Perlmutter has donated a 60-inch flat-screen "smart TV" to the Pleasantville Cottage School for use in the treatment center's recreation building.
Pleasantville Cottage School is residential treatment center that serves abused and neglected children with long-term emotional and behavioral challenges.
“We didn’t have a television in the recreation building, so the entire school will benefit from this donation," said Phina Geiger, director of volunteers at the Jewish Child Care Association's Westchester campus.
The JCCA is a 192-year-old child and family services organization and a school is run by the Jewish Child Care Association (JCCA), a 192-year-old child and family services organization and a United Jewish Appeal-Federation beneficiary agency.
"A gigantic TV that students can use to watch movies, special events, sports, it’s what recreation is about.
"The fact that the donors brought the TV themselves to see where it will be located makes it all the more meaningful,” Geiger said.
Perlmutter is a champion of UJA-Federation of New York’s Westchester Sports Talk Texas Hold ’Em Tournament.
