7 Hospitalized After Crash In Capital Region Seven people were hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash in the region. It happened in Columbia County at about 6:10 a.m. Tuesday, April 30 on Route 9 in the town of Kinderhook, just north of Maple Lane South. A 2011 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 28-year-old man from the village of Valatie in Columbia County, was traveling southbound when a 2004 Honda Accord, driven by an 18-year-old Bronx woman, exited a parking lot and made a left-hand turn in front of the Silverado, causing the collision, New York State Police said. 32-Year-Old From Capital Region Nabbed For Sexual Abuse Of Young Child, State Police Say A Capital Region man is behind bars, accused of sexually abusing a young child. Columbia County resident Ruben Martinez Cruz, age 32, of Valatie, is charged with felony criminal sexual act in the first degree, New York State Police said. Cruz was arrested Friday, April 22, after an investigation by State Police and the Columbia County Child Advocacy Center found that he sexually assaulted a victim under the age of 11, police said. He's currently being held at the Columbia County jail on a $100,000 bond. He was scheduled to appear back in court Tuesday, May 17.
