Man Lying In Roadway Struck, Killed By Car In Albany
A 64-year-old man was struck and killed by a car in the region while lying in the roadway. The incident happened at around 1:15 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, in Albany’s Pine Hills neighborhood. Albany Police said the victim was lying in the roadway on Washington Avenue near Quail Street when he was hit by a vehicle. He suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. In order to protect New York residents during the week of Thanksgiving, authorities have announced that they will be cracking down on drunk and drugged drivers throughout the state. The enforcement initiative was announced by both New York Gov. Kathy Hochul and New York State Police on Tuesday, Nov. 21, and will run between Wednesday, Nov. 22 through Sunday, Nov. 26. As Halloween approaches, officials are taking measures to ensure that New Yorkers can have a safe and scary-good time. Starting Friday, Oct. 27, and lasting through Tuesday, Oct. 31, Gov. Seeing Green: NY State Police Steps Up DWI Driving Enforcement
The enforcement and prevention campaign, aptly held on Thursday, April 20, announced that the state police will be stepping up patrols to target drug-impaired driving. The New York State Police announced in a statement that statewide, the campaign is aiming to train over 100 more officers using the Drug Recognition Experts (DRE) training program, administered by the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee. ID Released For Driver Killed After Cargo Van Crashes Into Tow Truck On NY Thruway Stretch
The identity has been released of a man killed in a two-vehicle crash on a stretch of the New York Thruway in the Hudson Valley. It happened around 7 a.m. Friday, Feb. 10 in Rockland County on northbound I-87 in the village of Nyack.
