The Society for Science announced the top 300 scholars in the Regeneron Science Talent Search for 2024 on Wednesday, Jan. 10. Fiery Fatal Crash: 53-Year-Old From Capital Region ID'd As Victim On I-87 Police are investigating after a middle-aged man was killed in a fiery overnight crash on I-87. It happened in Westchester just before 1 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10 on northbound I-87 in the village of Tarrytown. When New York State Police troopers arrived at the scene, a tractor-trailer was fully engulfed in flames. A preliminary investigation determined that the driver and sole occupant, Saratoga County resident Richard A. Speed Demon: Man Nabbed In Region Issued 106 Tickets For Fleeing State Police A speeding driver from New York has been charged with fleeing a police officer and other charges and issued 106 tickets after failing to stop for a traffic infraction. Joseph S. Salazar, age 26, of the Bronx, was arrested on Wednesday, June 28, for the incident which took place in Rockland County in the town of Stony Point on Sunday, May 28.
