Airborne Car Crashes Into Home In Region, Police Say An out-of-control car that went airborne after hitting an embankment struck a home in the region. The incident took place in Dutchess County around 9:15 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 30 on Route 9G in the town of Red Hook. According to Red Hook Police, the crash took place when a 2002 Subaru driven by a 41-year-old Catskills man was driving south on Walkers Hill Road when the car crossed into the northbound lane, struck an embankment, became airborne, and hit the home. The driver as well as a woman inside the home were not injured in the crash, police said. The unidentified driver was issued ticket…

24-Year-Old Man From Region Dies While Visiting Caribbean, Family Says A 24-year-old man from the region has died unexpectedly while visiting the Caribbean. Dutchess County resident Jeffrey Kiluba, of Red Hook, died on Saturday, Oct. 7 during a brief holiday in the Dominican Republic, said his brother Tim Kiluba on GoFundMe. A volunteer firefighter at the Red Hook Fire Company, Kiluba was last heard from on Friday, Oct. 6, expressing excitement to see mom and dad again on Sunday, Tim Kiluba said. Man, Woman Charged After Missing 14-Year-Old Killed In Capital Region Crash A man and a woman from a behavioral institute for young adults and children have been charged in connection with a crash that killed a missing 14-year-old boy. The crash took place in Columbia County on Friday, Sept. 23 in Clermont on Route 9. According to Trooper AJ Hicks, Romelo Cruze was killed after being hit by a vehicle. Albany native Max Drabkin passed away Wednesday, July 27, according to his obituary. A cause of death was not listed. Grandfather Of 6-Year-Old Cancer Patient Killed In Motorcycle Crash In Region A Hudson Valley family already grappling with their 6-year-old daughter’s cancer diagnosis has been jolted by a new tragedy. Dutchess County resident Michael Manetta, age 54, was killed in a motorcycle crash in Columbia County on Sunday, July 31, New York State Police said. A preliminary investigation found that Manetta, of Red Hook, was riding his motorcycle on Route 7A in the town of Copake shortly before 11 a.m. when a driver cut him off while making a left turn. Manetta’s bike struck the back of the car, causing him to be ejected, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.  I…
