Victim ID'd In Deadly Single-Vehicle Crash On Watervliet Highway Authorities have identified a man who was killed in a single-vehicle crash on a highway in the region. The Albany County wreck happened at around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, on Route 7 in Watervliet, according to New York State Police. Akiem Keele, age 33, of Whitehall in Washington County, was riding a motorcycle eastbound on Route 7 at a high rate of speed when he struck a dividing barrier near the exit to I-787. The incident happened just before 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, in Saratoga County, on Route 146 in the Town of Clifton Park. According to sheriff’s officials, 53-year-old Geoffrey Gabel, of Halfmoon, was riding a Yamaha motorcycle eastbound on Route 146 when he struck a Nissan SUV making a left turn east of the traffic circle at Route 146A. The Albany County wreck happened at around 1:40 p.m. Friday, June 9, in Colonie, on Crescent Road near Fonda Road. According to Colonie Police, Alexander Ortiz, age 74, of Hannacroix in Greene County, was driving his motorcycle eastbound on Crescent Road when he crossed into the oncoming lane. He then collided with a Nissan Altima and was ejected from the bike. Dutchess County resident Michael Manetta, age 54, was killed in a motorcycle crash in Columbia County on Sunday, July 31, New York State Police said. A preliminary investigation found that Manetta, of Red Hook, was riding his motorcycle on Route 7A in the town of Copake shortly before 11 a.m. when a driver cut him off while making a left turn.
