An injured woman was rescued during the height of the solar eclipse in an area in upstate New York that was in the path of totality. According to the New York Department of Environmental Conservation, the incident began in the middle of the afternoon on Monday, April 8, at Adirondack trailheads in Franklin County, in the town of Santa Clara. Fugitive Caught: Wanted NY Man Apprehended At Highway Rest Area In CT
A man wanted in New York State was apprehended by authorities at a rest area on a Connecticut highway. Just before 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 20, Connecticut State Police troopers in Middlesex County responded to the I-91 northbound rest area in Middletown after receiving information that the subject of an active extraditable arrest warrant in the State of New York may be in the area, in possession of a tan Buick LeSabre displaying a New York registration. Police Search For Missing 20-Year-Old NY Woman
Police asked the public for help locating a 20-year-old New York woman who was reported missing. Ariel Jewtraw left her residence, located in the Franklin County hamlet of North Bangor, on foot in an unknown direction at about 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 14, New York State Police reported. North Bangor is located about 55 miles from Plattsburgh. Troopers responded to the residence on Fay Road at about 6:40 p.m. on Monday after receiving the report that Jewtraw was missing, police said. Magnitude 2.5 Earthquake Reported In Upstate NY
A 2.5 magnitude earthquake was reported in upstate New York during the early morning hours. The quake, centered in Saint Regis Falls in Franklin County, close to the Canadian border, hit about 12:50 a.m. on Wednesday, July 27. Experts with the US Geological Survey said shaking was felt as far as 31 miles away, but no damage was reported from the quake that was considered "shallow." New York State Police Search For Missing 17-Year-Old
Police have asked the public for help locating a missing teenager from New York who was last seen more than a week ago. Brandon King was last seen leaving his Franklin County residence in the town of Malone at about 7 a.m. on Friday, April 15, New York State Police reported on Tuesday, April 26. Malone is located about 35 miles from Potsdam. King is described as being 5-foot-10 and about 160 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair, state police said.
