Guns, Drugs Trafficking Networks Busted In Region, 7 Arrested, AG Says
Large gun trafficking and narcotics networks were busted and seven suspects were arrested during raids in the region. The networks and suspects were operating out of Dutchess County, mostly in the Poughkeepsie area, according to New York Attorney General Letitia James. The arrests were made on Wednesday, Feb. 14 throughout Dutchess County. 14-Year-Old Shot In Albany, Search On For Suspect
A teenager is recovering after being shot in the region. Police in Albany were called just before 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5, for a shooting in the city’s Arbor Hill neighborhood, near Henry Johnson Boulevard and 3rd Street. When officers arrived, they found a 14-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to his leg. He was treated at the scene by medics and was taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Woman From Region Shot In Stomach, Suspect On Run
Police in the region are searching for a suspect after a woman was found shot in the stomach at an area apartment complex. The incident took place in Sullivan County around 5 p.m., Saturday, July 15 in Building 19, of the Sleepy Hollow Apartments in Monticello. Police Investigating Abuse Of 'Severely Injured' Puppy Found In Schenectady
A 10-to-14-week-old puppy is recovering after police in the Capital District found her suffering from severe abuse, authorities said. Schenectady Police were called Tuesday, Aug. 9, and found the animal severely injured and unable to stand on her own. Animal Control officers removed the dog and brought her to the emergency vet, where she received critical, lifesaving treatment, police said. Authorities have identified a victim who died following a pair of late-night shootings in the Capital District that left several others hospitalized. Albany resident Kareem Collier, age 36, died early Tuesday, Aug. 2 after being shot near Central Avenue and Ontario Street, according to Albany Police. Bottles With Explosive-Making Materials Found Outside NY School
Several bottles containing explosive-making devices were discovered just outside a New York elementary school. Officers on Long Island responded to a call for a suspicious item in the rear parking lot of Levy Lakeside School in Merrick, located on Babylon Road at around 9:30 a.m. Friday, June 24.
