Loaded Handgun Recovered At Scene After 15-Year-Old Shot In Region An investigation is underway after a 15-year-old was found shot in the region. The incident occurred in Dutchess County around 2:44 p.m. on Friday, April 19, in the area of 86 Smith St., in Poughkeepsie. According to the City of Poughkeepsie Police, officers responding to the report of a shot fired found a 15-year-old suffering from a severe gunshot wound to the leg. Responding officers secured the scene and immediately rendered medical aid, including applying a tourniquet.  The victim was transported via EMS to an area hospital and is expected to recover.  During a search of …

Woman Found Dead In Hudson River On Christmas Eve Tentatively Identified A woman who was found floating in the Hudson River on Christmas Eve has been tentatively identified. The body was discovered in Dutchess County around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 24 near Waryas Park in the city of Poughkeepsie. The body was taken to the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy and identification of the remains, said Det. Lt. Suspect Caught After Woman Stabbed To Death In Region, Police Say A suspect has been arrested just a day after a Hudson Valley woman was found stabbed to death in her home. The homicide took place in Dutchess County in the city of Poughkeepsie around 11:30 p.m., Friday, May 27. The woman's body was found after police and fire responded to a home at 7 South Grand Ave., for an unresponsive 64-year-old woman, said Det. Sgt. Terrence Beam, of the City of Poughkeepsie Police. Alert Issued For 20-Year-Old Who's Gone Missing In Region Police in the Hudson Valley are asking the public for help locating a missing man last seen by his family five days ago. Dutchess County resident Jordon Jones, age 20, of the city of Poughkeepsie, was last seen by family on Saturday, April 30, at his home located at 25 South Clover St. after a recent friendship just ended.  Jones, who has Asperger’s Syndrome does not readily communicate, said Det.
