Capital Region Couple Charged With Animal Neglect
A couple has been charged with animal neglect for allegedly torturing and injuring animals they kept in the Hudson Valley.
The couple, identified as Neil D. Duell, age 66, and Susan L. Duell, age 56, are property owners in Orange County in the town of Chester, were arrested Wednesday, March 29, according to the New York State Police.
The two reside in Warren County in the town of Horicon.
Police did not identify the type of animal involved in the case.
On Saturday, Feb. 25, at about 11:20 a.m. troopers responded to the report of an animal in the roadway of Rock Avenue in Chester.

A veterinarian and racehorse trainer from the Hudson Valley have received their sentences for their role in a racehorse doping scheme.
Orange County Veterinarian Louis Grasso, age 65, of Pine Bush, and trainer Richard Banca, age 47, of Middletown, were sentenced to 50 months in prison, and 30 months in prison, respectively, for producing, distributing, and administering performance-enhancing drugs as part of the doping case, according to an announcement by the US Attorney's Office from Wednesday, Nov. 16.

Capital District Couple Tied Dog To Tree In Woods, Abandoned Him, Police Say
A couple from the Capital District has been criminally charged after police said they tied their one-year-old dog to a tree in the woods and then abandoned him.
Saratoga County residents Noah Center, age 24, and Ashleigh Allen, age 22, both of Corinth, were arrested Thursday, July 14, on multiple charges stemming from the incident.
According to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office, Center and Allen left the Heeler mix, named Quade, tied up in a wooded area off Route 9 in Corinth, where he remained for at least two days.
