These US States Most At Risk For Blackouts This Summer, New Report Says As temperatures climb, attention is turning toward the nation’s power grids and whether they can handle the added demand this summer. Though the Northeast should fare well, much of the US is facing an elevated risk of power blackouts between June and September, according to a report from the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC). Brush Fire Breaks Out At Kensico Reservoir Peninsula A brush fire broke out at the Kensico Reservoir peninsula on Monday afternoon, prompting a heavy response from first responders as temperatures topped 90 degrees in the Hudson Valley. First responders were dispatched to the area shortly before 3:45 p.m. on Monday afternoon, just off of Route 120 in Armonk.
