Honda Recalls 564K Vehicles Due To Rust Risk Concern
Hundreds of thousands of Honda SUVs are being recalled due to concerns that road salt could cause the frame of the vehicle to rust and unintentionally detach parts of the rear suspension. Officials announced this week that Honda is recalling nearly 564,000 CR-V models that were produced between 2007 and 2011 that were sold in states where salt and other de-icing chemicals are used to clear roads during winter storms. Fake ID Scam: Thousands Of Dollars Swindled From Fairfield County Resident, Police Say
A man has been charged with larceny and identity theft after allegedly using a fake ID to steal more than $20,000 from a Fairfield County resident. Archie Longson, age 44, of New York City, was arrested by Wilton Police on Monday, March 27 on a warrant. The victim first learned of the crime in April 2022, when they found two fraudulent transactions on their bank account for a total of $20,500; a withdrawal of $8,000 was also made at a bank in Connecticut, and a bank check in the name of Longson was purchased for the amount of $12,500, said Capt. Beloved Store Owner In Westchester Dies: Lived 'Extraordinary Life'
A well-known man from Fairfield County who owned a beloved store in Northern Westchester has died. Stamford resident Joseph DiPietro, Sr. died on Friday, Feb. 10 at the age of 90, according to his obituary. DiPietro, who lived an "extraordinary life," was the owner of Chubby's Hardware in Pound Ridge located at 68 Westchester Ave., which was named after his childhood nickname, his obituary said. New homebuyers would do well to check out this New York locale before signing that first mortgage, according to a new ranking. Watervliet, located in Albany County, ranks number eight on the top ten best markets for first-time homebuyers in 2023, according to Realtor.com. Fairfield County Man Accused Of Driving 161 MPH
A Connecticut man was charged with reckless driving after police said he was clocked driving 161 miles per hour on a highway in New Hampshire. A New Hampshire State trooper saw an orange 2021 Chevrolet Corvette speed past him on I-93 northbound in Ashland at about 11:15 a.m. on Sunday, July 31, police said. The trooper clocked the car on radar at 161 MPH in the section of the interstate where the speed limit is 70 mph, authorities said. Thousands lost power after powerful storms moved through the region overnight. More than 39,000 customers in the area of Ulster and Dutchess counties lost power Sunday night, July 24, Central Hudson said.
