Massive Hudson Valley Wildfire Believed To Be Ignited By Lightning Strike Spreads To 150 Acres Gov. Kathy Hochul has deployed the New York Army and Air National Guards to help extinguish a Hudson Valley wildfire at a state park that has grown from 30 acres to between 130 and 150 acres. Located in Ulster County, the fire, known as the Napanoch Point Fire in the Minnewaska State Park in Ellenville, was believed to have started on Saturday, Aug. 27 by a lightning strike. More than 200 state and local firefighters from across the region have been battling the blaze that continues to grown.
