Stepinac Lacrosse Sticks Push Past St. Mary’s

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – Nick Hutchinson scored six times and teammate Tim Ahem added a goal Tuesday to lead the Archbishop Stepinac boys lacrosse team to a 7-5 victory over visiting St. Mary’s.

The Crusaders upped their record to 2-3 by getting out to an early 4-1 lead after one quarter and holding on to the lead in a furious fourth-quarter comeback by St. Mary’s, which scored four goals in the final quarter.

Goaltender Bobby DiNapoli recorded 13 saves in goal for Stepinac to earn his second straight victory. Nick Graziano had two assists and Brendan Gallagher added one for the winners.

Stepinac hosts Minisink Valley (Section 9) Thursday at 2:30 p.m.
