Rye Brook's Club@800 Hosts Pro Squash Event

RYE BROOK, N.Y. - The Pro Squash Tour opens its local tour event schedule in Rye Brook this weekend with the Buffalo Wild Wings Open 2012, hosted by Club@800 Squash & Fitness Friday through Sunday.

Headlining the tournament are Pro Squash Tour's 2011 Philadelphia Open Champion Adrian Leanza, PST's 2011 Boston Open Champion Mohamed Nabil of Egypt, and PST's 2012 Pyramid Open Champion Shahid Khan of England, a teaching pro at the Club@800.

Four top juniors, all under 17, will compete in the tournament to test their talents against the pros: Mason Ripka, Anders Larson, Bronxville's Pierson Broadwater, and Jordan Brail, are all elite players with international experience.

Broadwater recently received the William T. Ketchum Award as the most improved junior male player of 2012 and is currently ranked in the top five of his age division. He has twice represented the U.S. in international competition

The Club@800 Squash & Fitness is owned and operated by Tiffany and Mike Callaway, who has coached many of the region's top juniors and school teams from Westchester and Connecticut.

Players from across the world compete on the Pro Squash Tour for points and prize money. PST's top eight players are invited to an end-of-season tournament to compete for the PST World Championship.

The matches begin Friday at 5:15 p.m. with quarterfinals set for Saturday at 11 a.m. and semifinals, from 6 to 8 p.m. The finals will be held Sunday at noon following a third-place match at 11 a.m.
