BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - A 35-year-old man was tracked down by police in Bronxville after attempting to allegedly steal a table and chairs that were to be used for a community event in the village.

Police in Bronxville received a report on Sept. 8 that a table and six chairs that were to be used for a village event had been stolen from a sidewalk on Parkway Road overnight.

Utilizing village surveillance cameras, detectives were able to review the incident and obtained the license plate number of 35-year-old Bronx resident Issa Aldaylam, who was subsequently arrested the following day shortly before 5 a.m. on Palmer Road.

Aldaylam was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor count of petit larceny. She was released on her own recognizance and is due back in Bronxville Village Court later this year to answer the charges.

Other items on the Bronxville Police Department blotter from Sept. 8 through Sept. 19 includes:

  • A 50-year-old man from Yonkers was issued an appearance ticket for Bronxville Village Court to answer charges of consumption of alcohol in public after an officer spotted Peter Walsh drinking a 40-ounce Budweiser can at the corner of Park Place and Kraft Avenue. He is due back in court to answer the charge later this year.
  • Police launched an investigation on Sept. 16 after a woman reported that her purse containing $160, credit cards and personal information was stolen from her car at Studio Arcade. The vehicle was unlocked at the time and an alarm was not armed.
  • A woman at Citibank on Pondfield Road reported to police on Sept. 17 that she received a check from an item she was selling on “Offer Up” for $4,995 and deposited the check into her account. She then was contacted by the buyer, who demanded a refund. After withdrawing the money from her account and sending a refund, it was determined that the original check had never cleared. The incident is currently under investigation.
  • The windows of two vehicles in the Upper Kensington parking lot were smashed on Sept. 17 which were parked overnight. One bag containing items valued at $70 was stolen from one vehicle, while nothing was taken from the second.
