Philip Joseph 'Bud' Beichert, Jr., 84, Of Bronxville

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- Philip Joseph 'Bud' Beichert, Jr., of Bronxville, died on Tuesday, July 7. He was 84.

Beichert was born on Oct. 9, 1930, in Kingston, N.Y., to Philip Joseph, Sr. and Gertrude (Connors) Beichert.

He graduated from St. John's Prep School in Danvers, Mass., and served in the Navy during the Korean War, earning a commendation for bravery.

After his service, he graduated from the University of Rhode Island and began working as a salesman of fine paper.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Donovan Beichert; a sister Marilyn Beichert Powers; three children, John Joseph and his wife, Patricia, Kathryn Beichert Stillwagon and her husband, Craig, Maryanne Beichert Funai and her husband, Edmund, and nine grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a sister, Gertrude Beichert Hughes.

Visiting hours will be at the Fred H. McGrath & Son Funeral Home in Bronxville from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church in Bronxville on Thursday at 9:45 a.m.
