Frances Petersmeyer, 93, Formerly Of Bronxville

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- Frances Gregg Petersmeyer, 93, a former resident of Bronxville, died in Nov. 10 in Washington D.C.

Born in Little Rock, Ark., Petersmeyer grew up in Memphis, Tenn., the eldest of four daughters to Irene Calhoun Gregg and Russell C. Gregg. 

She graduated from Lausanne School in Memphis and from Sweet Briar College in Virginia. She worked for the Commercial Appeal newspaper in Memphis during the war, where she met and married Charles Petersmeyer, a captain in the U.S. Army. 

Known for her wit and charm, Petersmeyer was active in the Junior League and Christ Church in Bronxville.

She was predeceased by her husband, and by her sisters, Nancy Gregg Lewis and Emily Gregg. 

Petersmeyer is survived by her children: Susan Petersmeyer, Gregg Petersmeyer (Julie); Nancy Petersmeyer; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and her sister, Mary Gregg Loeb. 

A memorial service will be conducted in Washington, D.C.
