Ossining High School Graduation Relocating To Pace

OSSINING, N.Y. – Ossining High School officials are recommending that the senior graduation ceremony in 2012 be relocated to Pace University.

"The district has been seeking ways to reduce the overall cost of the (graduation) event," said schools Deputy Superintendent Raymond Sanchez in an email. "It is our overarching goal to be fiscally responsible while also providing an adequate site for graduation. It is also our goal to make the event a lasting memory for you and your child."

Traditionally, Ossining High School's graduation ceremony has been held underneath a tent behind the high school. In June, many family members had to stand outside the tent during the ceremony because there were not enough seats underneath the tent.

Sanchez said Ossining High School Principal Joshua Mandel and Assistant Principal Chris Olson will be meeting with students to discuss the decision and to respond to any questions or concerns.
