BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. Michelle Ho may be done with school for the year but that doesnt mean the 8-year-old doesnt have anything to do.
Ho, who was one of the children gathered at Law Park to celebrate the end of school, will be going to computer and YMCA camp.
The School's Out party, organized by the Briarcliff Public Library, was a chance for children to enjoy popcorn and cotton candy and games such as Frisbee, bean bag toss and ring toss.
"I love my kids when they are around," Eve Tukulu said. 'It's a bonding experience for everybody. But it means parents who were doing one thing before, our chores are going to be doubled."
Tukulu's 13-year-old son Ope was manning a ring-toss game. He said he is happy that he can now sleep in, however he misses school sometimes when he doesn't have much to do.
Shaddyn Yousef, 8, also had mixed feelings.
"I feel sad because I'm not going to see my teachers for a long time and I feel happy because I'm going to be doing a lot of fun things over the summer," she said.
Many children will be going to camp during their summer holidays, whether its "town camp" offered by the Briarcliff Recreation Department or camp offered by other organizations such as the YMCA.
"They're happy, said mother Susanna Ho. "I just have to find my routine so I don't go crazy."
