$200 iPhone Stolen In Bedford Car Break-In

BEDFORD, N.Y. — A $200 iPhone was stolen Friday, Aug. 24, when a car parked on Reservoir Road was broken into while the owner was taking a walk, Bedford police said.

The thief broke a window and entered the locked car between 8 a.m. and 9:10 a.m, police said.

The owner, 32, reported two other items stolen in addition to the iPhone: a $100 tote bag and a $50 cloth bag.

Police advise the public to make sure to secure their valuables whenever they leave their cars.

The following items also were reported by Bedford police:

Mailbox Theft: A mailbox was stolen from its post in front of a residence on Brook Farm Lane, police said. An officer arrived at the home at 1:26 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, and interviewed the owner, who said the mailbox was worth $100. Police are looking into the incident.

Golf Clubs Stolen: Golf clubs worth $500 were stolen from World of Golf on Bedford Road in Bedford Hills, police said. The owner called police headquarters at 9:52 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24, and reported the golf clubs had been taken sometime after Aug. 11.

DWI: Renee Giardina, 22, of Hopewell Junction, N.Y., was charged Sunday, Aug. 25, with driving while intoxicated and driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content over 0.08 percent, both misdemeanors. Giardina was pulled over on Garlen Road in Katonah, police said. She was released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to appear Sept. 6 in Bedford Town Court.
