Man Charged With DWI on Saw Mill in Bedford

New York State Troopers stopped a Green Ford Explorer on the Saw Mill River Parkway as it drove through Bedford on Friday, March 16 at 1:50 p.m. Police said the driver, Elliott A. Schonfeld of Lake Carmel, 54, had a strong smell of alcohol on his breath.

According to police, Schonfeld failed field sobriety tests and was charged with DWI. He was transported to the Cortlandt New York State Police Headquarters, police said, where he was given a breathalyzer test that detected a 0.25 percent blood alcohol content. The driver was issued citations for aggravated DWI and other vehicle-related violations.
