Winter Weather is Coming to Westchester

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Westchester is about to get a chilly reminder that winter is coming.

A cold snap is headed for the New York metropolitan area later this week, according to the National Weather Service. Thursday will see periods of rain with a high temperature near 47 degrees with rain continuing into the evening, possibly mixing with snow after midnight before gradually ending. The overnight low will drop to around 29 degrees with little or no snow accumulation expected. Friday is expected to be sunny with a high near 51 degrees, with an overnight low of 34 degrees and a slight chance of snow after 3 a.m. On Saturday there is a chance of snow before 9 a.m. with rain likely later in the day and a high near 44 degrees. Saturday night could see some rain and snow, with a low around 29 degrees. Sunday is expected to be mostly sunny, with a high near 51 degrees. The evening will be mostly clear, with an overnight low of around 34 degrees.
