A very strong cold front, with high winds, is expected to arrive Saturday evening, say meteorologists.
Gusts through Sunday morning could reach 50 to 60 mph and could bring down tree limbs and electrical lines, causing power outages.
If temperatures drop below freezing Sunday night, some plants might be killed if left outside.
This is the National Weather Service forecast:
Saturday: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high between 55 and 57 degrees. Southwest wind 5 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
Saturday night: A chance of rain showers before 2 a.m., then snow showers likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around the freezing mark. Wind chill values between 20 and 30. West wind 8 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
Sunday: A chance of snow showers before 8 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 40. Windy, with a northwest wind 22 to 28 mph, with gusts as high as 46 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
Sunday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 28.
Monday: A chance of snow before 11 a.m., then rain likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 47. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.
