Wind Advisory In Effect, Power Outages Possible In Armonk

The arrival of a cold front late Saturday evening brought with it some accumulating snow in parts of the Hudson Valley.

The Wind Advisory, which had originally been issued for Southern Westchester on Saturday, now includes all of Westchester as well as Putnam and Rockland.

It also has ushered in gusty winds that could cause power outages.

Strong winds may bring down limbs, trees and power lines. Minor property damage and scattered power outages are possible.

A Wind Advisory, issued by the National Weather Service, is in effect from 6 a.m. Sunday through 6 p.m. Monday for all of Westchester as well as Putnam and Rockland, where winds of 25 to 35 miles per hour with gusts up to 50 mph are expected.

Sunday's high temperature will struggle to reach 40, with the wind-chill factor making it feel more like the 20s and 30s during the day.

There is a chance of more rain and snow showers through 10 p.m. Sunday, followed by a chance of snow showers until 1 a.m. Monday. Isolated snow showers, especially in areas farther north, are possible until around noon Monday.

Monday will be a mostly cloudy day with a high temperature between 41 and 43 degrees with wind-chill values between 20 and 30 degrees.
