WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY--The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Westchester County until 3:30 p.m. Saturday, and a severe thunderstorm watch until 8 p.m.
The Weather Service says as of 3 p.m. Saturday, a severe thunderstorm, capable of producing quarter size hail, and damaging winds in excess of 60 miles per hour, was spotted near Nyack. The warning includes, but is not limited to Ossining, North Tarrytown, Tarrytown, Dobbs Ferry, Yonkers, White Plains, Scarsdale, New Rochelle Hawthorne, Harrison and Bronxville.
Heavy rain, lightning and hail is a possibility until 8 p.m. Saturday night.
