A weak high pressure system will bring steady rain to the area Wednesday night, but will dry out by New Year's Eve Day Thursday, Dec. 31, as a high pressure system pushes into the area from the West.
Temperatures will continue to be a few degrees above normal, with highs ranging from the low 40s inland to near 50 degrees along the coast, the Weather Service said.
Wednesday night: Rain likely, mainly between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m. Patchy fog after 10 p.m. Otherwise, cloudy, with a steady temperature around 41. Chance of rain is 70 percent.
Thursday: Patchy fog before 8 a.m. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near between 45 and 48 degrees.
Thursday Night, New Year's Eve: Partly cloudy, with a low around between 25 and 28 degrees.
New Year's Day: Mostly sunny, with a high between 40 and 43 degrees.
