According to AccuWeather.com, a polar vortex will bring below-average temperatures to our region and parts of the East and Midwest starting Sunday, April 3.
AccuWeather.com said nighttime temperatures could drop below freezing, bad news for tender young plants just now poking their heads up -- not to mention blossoming fruit trees.
It won’t be as cold in the Hudson Valley as in the Midwest, but highs may barely reach the 40s in the New York City area while the vortex passes through, AccuWeather.com said.
Things are expected to warm up -- a little -- by April 10, AccuWeather.com said.
