A strong storm was located at West Point shortly after 4 p.m., said the National Weather Service. It's moving east at 45 miles per hour with winds in excess of 30 miles per hour. Pea-size hail are possible with the storm, the weather service said.
The chance for showers and thunderstorms will continue through 9 p.m., followed by a slight chance of showers between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m.
The storms will usher in more comfortable air. Thursday's high temperature will be in the low 70s under sunny skies.
