Heavy Rain, Storms Headed To Armonk

The area will be seeing some much needed rainfall Tuesday and Wednesday as a high pressure system moves over the area before heading out to sea, according to the National Weather Service.

The rain will come in two batches with the first round moving in after midnight Monday and continuing into Tuesday with thunderstorms possible for the afternoon.

Some of those storms could be heavy. New rainfall amounts of up to one-inch are possible with a 100 percent of rain. Rain should end before 9 p.m.

The second round of storms is predicted to move into the area after 1 p.m. on Wednesday with an 80 percent of showers and thunderstorms. Rain is forecast to continue until 11 p.m.

Sunny skies return on Thursday with highs in the mid-50s.
