Flood Watch In Effect For Armonk As Heavy Rain Approaches

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- With rain in the forecast for the next few days, the National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for Westchester County for Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning.

Rain will become heavy late in the day on Wednesday which could cause flooding of urban, low lying areas as well as areas with poor drainage. Up to 2 inches of rain is possible going into Wednesday night.

Rain will get heavier during the overnight hours on Wednesday with up to 4 inches of precipitation possible. The additional rain could cause small rivers and streams to reach flood levels.

The National Weather Service advises residents in areas prone to flooding to remain alert and be prepared to take action.

The latest front is expected to clear from the area overnight on Thursday.
