First Snowfall Projections Released For Start-Of-Spring Storm

Tuesday may mark the start of spring, but the latest storm to hit the area this month will bring a blast of winter weather.

Accumulating snow is likely Wednesday with 2 to 4 inches of heavy, wet snow likely for much of the tristate region, and as much to half a foot farther east.

Accumulating snow is likely Wednesday with 2 to 4 inches of heavy, wet snow likely for the entire tristate region, with as much as half a foot farther east. (For projected totals released Monday morning by the National Weather Service, see image above.)

Monday and Tuesday will be partly cloudy days with highs around 40 each day.

The snow chance starts overnight Tuesday into Wednesday. Snow is likely during the day Wednesday, mainly before 5 p.m., on a day in which the high temperature will be in the mid-40s with wind-chill values between 15 and 20.

Skies will eventually become partly cloudy Wednesday night.

The outlook for Thursday calls for mostly sunny skies with a high in the low-40s.
