Armonk Will See Rain, Fog, Followed By 50-60 MPH Winds

It might be spring, but Old Man Winter is going to take another swipe at the region, weather forecasters say.

A very strong cold front, with high winds, is expected to arrive Saturday evening, say meteorologists.

Gusts through Sunday morning could reach 50 to 60 mph and could bring down tree limbs and electrical lines, causing power outages.

If temperatures drop below freezing Sunday night, some plants might be killed if left outside.

According to the National Weather Service, rain, fog, and possibly thunderstorms are likely for tonight. Lows will be around 55.

This is the National Weather Service forecast:

  • Friday: Rain and thunderstorms, with early morning fog, and highs near 69. Nighttime lows could hit 48.
  • Saturday: Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers. Daytime highs could reach 57, but as winds increase, temperatures could drop to around 34 Saturday night may see a few snow showers.
  • Sunday: Mostly sunny and breezy, with highs near 43 during the day and a low of 29 at night.
  • Monday: Rain returns in the afternoon when temperatures will hit a high of 46. Nighttime lows are expected to be around 32.
  • Tuesday: Expect to see another round of mixed precipitation. Highs will barely crack 40. Nighttime temperatures could drop to 27.
