Frigid temperatures will grip the Hudson Valley Sunday, along with a chance of afternoon snow squalls Sunday before the new chance for wintry precipitation comes on Tuesday.
Snow squalls could produce brief but intense conditions with strong gusty winds, near zero visibility and a quick coating to an inch of snowfall, creating hazardous driving conditions, according to the National Weather Service.
Squalls are possibly after 1 p.m. Sunday on a day in which the high temperature will hover around 20 degrees with wind-chill values between 5 and 10.
The overnight low temperature will be around 10 degrees, with wind chills between -5 and zero.
It will continue to cold Monday with increasing clouds and a high near 25 and wind-chill values between zero and 10.
There is a chance of a wintry mix and afternoon snow Tuesday. It is too early to predict any possible accumulation.
Temperatures will climb starting midweek with daytime highs in the mid 40s expected Wednesday and Thursday and around 50 on Friday. There is a chance of showers each day.
