With the holidays nearly here, the New York City Department of Transportation is encouraging area residents to utilize public transportation whenever possible.
Each year, the NYC DOT designates Gridlock Alert Days, which mark some of the busiest traffic and travel days on the calendar. As such, the DOT is encouraging residents that are heading to work, shop or otherwise to “consider walking, biking or taking public transportation whenever possible.”
There are still six Gridlock Alert Days left this year:
- Wednesday, Dec. 13;
- Thursday, Dec. 14;
- Friday, Dec. 15;
- Wednesday, Dec. 20;
- Thursday, Dec. 21;
- Friday, Dec. 22.
