Gridlock On I-684 As Crash Blocks Lane

Motorists on both I-684 and I-84 started the workweek with major delays due to accidents.

A crash just before 8 a.m. on southbound I-684 tied up traffic just south of I-84.

An earlier crash on southbound I-684 at the junction of the Saw Mill River Parkway (Exit 5) in Katonah initially blocked the right lane, causing stop-and-go delays back to Hardscrabble Road (Exit 8) in North Salem Monday morning.

The crash, reported around 7 a.m., occurred on the stretch of I-684 leading into the parkway that has two lanes.

Farther north, an earlier crash on westbound I-84 is taking out the right lane at the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge, with traffic backed up to Route 52 (Exit 12).
