Motorists are advised that the single and double lane closures due to construction are expected on Interstate 684 for a span of more than a month.
The closures will be weeknights between Exit 4 (Route 172) and Exit 6 (Route 35) beginning, Sunday, July 30 through Thursday, Aug. 31 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., while crews do the roadwork, weather permitting.
Single-lane closures will begin at 9 p.m. and double lane closures will begin at 10 p.m.
Southbound closures will end by 5 a.m. and northbound closures will end by 6 a.m.
Motorists should expect delays and plan accordingly.
Drivers are asked to use caution when traveling through the work zone area and pay particular attention to all traffic control devices, including signs and flaggers.
Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
