Scattered thunderstorms, some severe, are moving across the region ahead of a strong cold front. Some of the storms, which began in the middle of the afternoon Friday, June 2, have been packed with heavy downpours, and gusty winds. Disabled Patient, Caregivers Rescued From Flooded Parkway In Westchester
A wheelchair-bound patient and two caregivers had to be rescued from a flooded parkway in Westchester when the ambulette they had been traveling in started taking on water. The rescue happened on Sunday, April 30, when authorities responded to the Bronx River Parkway in White Plains under the Hamilton Avenue overpass and found a vehicle that had become stuck in the flooded southbound lanes, according to White Plains Public Safety.
