Water Main Break Compromises Stretch Of Busy Westchester Road, Causes Closure Police have closed part of a busy road in Westchester following a water main break that potentially compromised the roadway's structure.  The main break was found on Thursday morning, Aug. 1 in the area of Riverdale Avenue and Vark Street in Yonkers, according to Yonkers Police. After the water main break was discovered, authorities also determined that part of the roadway in the area of 79 Riverdale Ave. was "potentially compromised" as a result of the break, according to the department.  This resulted in police closing Riverdale Avenue between Prospect Street and Vark Street. Teen Charged With Murder For Fatal Daytime Shooting In Westchester A 16-year-old has been arrested and charged in connection to the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old in broad daylight in Westchester on Tuesday. Yonkers Police Det. Sgt. Dean Politopoulos announced on Wednesday, Jan. 30, that they have apprehended Yonkers Gavin Chisolm, 16, for this alleged role in the fatal incident. Teen Shot, Killed In Broad Daylight In Westchester Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a teenage boy that occurred in broad daylight in Westchester. Officers from the Yonkers Police Department were dispatched shortly after 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29 to the area of South Broadway near the intersection of Vark Street, where there was a report of gunshots fired.
