Pair Of Tropical Systems Threaten To Become Next Named Storm Of Hurricane Season Forecasters are monitoring a pair of systems in the tropics that could develop into named storms. One system, called Invest 94L, is now in the Central Atlantic, and expected to pass near the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico on Friday, Oct. 18, and then move toward the Turks and Caicos or the Dominican Republic this weekend, according to the National Hurricane Center. There's a chance it could strengthen as it enters warmer waters.
