A former teacher from Westchester will spend decades in prison for sexually abusing a young child who he had been tutoring in their own home, federal officials said. Victims Come Forward: Westchester Man Charged With Sex Offenses Against Children, DA Says
In the wake of a Westchester County man being charged with sex offenses against children, officials are asking any of his possible victims to come forward. The announcement comes after 22-year-old New Rochelle resident Jason Ricketts was arrested on Thursday, Feb. 2, after an investigation prompted by a referral from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, Westchester County District Attorney Miriam Rocah said. A 24-year-old man attending college in Connecticut has admitted to enticing four boys to engage in sexual activities over the Internet. Travis McCoy has waived his right to be indicted and pleaded guilty in Hartford District Court this week to one count of enticement of a minor to engage in sexual activity. Area Man Sentenced For Luring Minors To Send Sexually Explicit Photos
A 23-year-old registered sex offender in the Hudson Valley has been sentenced to nearly two decades behind bars after pleading guilty to posing as a child on social media to entice minors for sex. Geoffrey Berman, the United States Attorney for the Southern District, announced this week that Robert Garneau of Warwick in Orange County has been sentenced to 16 years in state prison after pleading guilty to three counts of enticement of a minor last May.
