9 Ducklings Rescued From Catch Basin In Westchester When several neighbors heard faint quacking coming from a catch basin in Westchester, three public works employees sprang into action to reunite the nine stuck ducklings with their mother.  The rescue happened in the Crestwood neighborhood of Yonkers, where several residents discovered that the ducklings were trapped on Scarsdale Road at Lindbergh Place after hearing their little quacks, Yonkers city officials said on Tuesday, May 2.  Several members of the Yonkers Department of Public Works then came to the rescue and removed the grate.  After this, they then climbed down to the bottom o…

Westchester 'Bicycle Sundays' Schedule Released Cyclists will soon be able to enjoy the colorful foliage on a stretch of the Bronx River Parkway with the return of "Bicycle Sundays." Westchester County officials announced that a portion of the parkway is set to close to vehicles for the exclusive use of bicyclists, joggers, walkers, scooters, and strollers on select dates in September and October. The course will run from the Westchester County Center in White Plains south to Scarsdale Road in Yonkers, for a round-trip of 13.1 miles, officials reported.
