Man Charged In $1.65 Million Jewelry Heist During Burglary Of Greenwich Home Police in Fairfield County have extradited a man involved in an alleged foreign national theft ring that moves from state to state wanted in the theft of $1.65 million in jewelry taken during a burglary. Greenwich Police charged Stefano Cortes-Munoz, age 30, of Santiago, Chile, with felony larceny and burglary in the Wednesday, May 18, 2022 burglary of a home in Greenwich. Capt. 8 Suspected 'Tourist Burglars' Targeting Westchester, Fairfield Counties In Custody, Police Say Eight alleged residential burglars known as "tourist burglars," who work for out-of-country crews have been nabbed for crimes committed in the region.  The bust in Fairfield County comes after months of investigating and working with the FBI, and law enforcement departments across the region.
