NYC Rents Soar To Three-Year High With New Yorkers leaving the state in record numbers, rent prices continue to rise in New York City, reaching a three-year peak. The average rent for a one bedroom apartment in New York is up to $2,980, according to a new report by Zumper. The number represents a 4.2 percent increase from June a year ago and prices have reached a three-year high. The report found that two-bedroom apartments in the Big Apple are also becoming more expensive, up to an average of $3,330 monthly, a 5.1 percent increase from 2018. Connecticut City Cited For Widening Wealth Gap In Bloomberg Report The "super rich" are getting richer and the middle class are poorer in Bridgeport, according to a national study of the widening wealth gap. The Bloomberg news ranking found the change in the gap between the super rich to middle class widened in 98 of 100 U.S. metropolitan areas, led by Bridgeport.  The gap narrowed in Ogden, Utah and Colorado Springs, Colo., Bloomberg reported here. And 10-year-old Jacob Sanchez of Montgomery in Orange County took his first big step in that direction by winning his first national figure skating medal on Friday. Jacob, a member of the Hudson Valley Figure Skating Club, took the silver medal in the Juvenile Boys category in the opening day of the 2018 Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships at Solar4America Ice in San Jose, Calif.  Jacob, who trains six days a week at Ice Time Sports Complex in Newburgh, scored 51.77 points as he skated to the Club Des Belugas remix of "Puttin' On the Ritz." …
