The son of a former sheriff in the Hudson Valley has been arrested on multiple counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child, according to published reports. Robert L. Motorist Stopped On Route 6 Charged With DWI
A driver stopped on the middle of Route 6 in Putnam County was allegedly intoxicated when he was busted by members of the Sheriff’s Office, officials said. Putnam County Sheriff Deputy Matthew Shelters was on patrol shortly after 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23 when he spotted a vehicle that was stopped in the middle of the road on Route 6 in Southeast, blocking the southbound lane of traffic. Further investigation determined that the driver, Perfecto Lopez-Garcia, age 39, was the sole occupant of the vehicle, and Shelters said that Lopez-Garcia appeared intoxicated when he was approached. …

A Putnam County man was apprehended on assault and burglary charges following a months-long investigation into a home invasion over the summer. Putnam County Sheriff Robert Langley, Jr. launched an investigation over the summer following a burglary that was reported in Cold Spring on Tuesday, June 30. It is alleged that Cold Spring resident Tyrell Jones sought to burglarize a neighbor’s home on that night, during which he was interrupted and choked at least one victim. Putnam County Sheriff Robert Langley Jr. was critical of social media following a nearly seven-hour standoff in Carmel over the weekend when a man barricaded himself inside for hours. Members of the Carmel Police Department responded to Putnam Drive at approximately 2:20 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, where there was a report of a previous domestic incident involving 28-year-old Carmel resident Alexander Booth. A sheriff’s deputy apprehended a man in possession of semiautomatic weapons after he allegedly attempted to resist arrest following a traffic stop on I-84 in Putnam County. Putnam County Sheriff Robert Langley, Jr. announced the arrest of New Mexico resident Pedro Ruiz-Rivas on Monday, who is facing charges that include two felony counts of criminal possession of a firearm, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration and other violations.
