Hotel Pays $515K Penalty for Housing Migrants For Almost 2 Years In Westchester: Officials Over 100 asylum-seeking families have vacated a Yonkers hotel after the city successfully sued the business for violating zoning and occupancy laws, officials announced. The families, housed at the Ramada by Wyndham on Tuckahoe Road since May 2023, have transitioned to permanent housing or shelters operated by New York City’s Department of Homeless Services (DHS). Hudson Valley County Files 2 Lawsuits To Stop NYC From Sending More Asylum Seekers A Hudson Valley county has filed two lawsuits to stop New York City from sending its homeless migrants and asylum seekers to the county. The lawsuits, asking for restraining orders, were filed on Friday, May 12, in Orange County on behalf of the county, said Orange County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus. The first lawsuit is against both the Crossroads Hotel and Ramada by Wyndham, both located in the town of Newburgh, Neuhaus said.
