The Hudson Valley is mourning the loss of a cherished physician and community leader, Dr. Jeffrey S. Carr, who died peacefully after a brief illness.
Carr, a Northern Westchester resident who called Somers home, died on Tuesday, Dec. 17 at the age of 85, according to his obituary.

One hospital in the Hudson Valley is at the top of its class for keeping patients safe, according to a new report.
Westchester County's White Plains Hospital, located at 41 East Post Rd, has been assigned an "A" grade for patient safety in a new Fall 2022 report by the Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog organization that advocates for safety in hospitals.

Nuvance To Bring 500 Jobs From Other Locations To New Site In Fairfield County
In Connecticut's largest office space lease this year, Nuvance Health Systems has rented a 220,000 square foot office space in Danbury, and will hire 500 employees.
Nuvance, formerly Western Connecticut Medical, is leasing a portion space at the newly named "Summit at Danbury" space for 12 years and may expand to 300,000 square feet in the facility.
The space, according to Nuvance, will include its executive headquarters, labs, clinical facilities and its back offices.

The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has now claimed the lives of 60 Putnam County residents, as the total number of cases topped 1,450 cases since mid-March.
On Day 94 of the pandemic, there were 22 new COVID-19 cases in Putnam, bringing the total to 1,451 positive cases since the outbreak began. Of those cases, 60 have resulted in the deaths of Putnam residents.
A total of 9,506 COVID-19 tests have been issued according to the Putnam County Department of Health, with 18 cases currently active. Nine COVID-19 patients remain at Putnam Hospital.
